Plant Lists

Chaska Farm & Garden

These lists include plants that we expect to be carrying this year.

Keep in mind that different perennials reach their peak performance at different times during the growing season. So, some perennials may not be available during certain times of the year. For example, warm-season grasses don't really grow much (or look very nice) until about mid-June or later. So, we don't bring all of them in from the field until then.

If you are just getting started with perennials, the best way to shop is to visit our store every couple of weeks to see what has come into bloom. Or at the very least, visit our web site each week. Shopping for perennials a little at a time over the whole growing season will ensure that you create a garden that has constant color.

And don't forget--you should always leave some room in your perennial garden for annuals. First of all, they will bloom all summer long carrying you through the times when one perennial has stopped blooming and another hasn't quite begun. And second, they provide a base of color for your garden that can be changed from year to year.
